She canoodled with Graham Parsons and together they essentially created the Americana/Alt Country genre. She’s enchanted Neil Young, Daniel Lanois and pretty much everyone who’s ever seen her. And for at least 2 decades, she’s made silver hair sexy not stodgy.

Emmylou Harris and her delicate, patina-ed voice returns with a new album Hard Bargain on April 26. Click the link below to hear her brand new song, The Road.

Lots laughs on today’s show with guest co-host Camille Bloom and rising star soul singer Allen Stone. Direct from the one-stoplight town of Chewelah, Washington, Allen makes his second appearance on the podcast performing songs about ex-girlfriends and the awkwardness that ensues after the breakup. Camille Bloom, Allen Stone and the Brandon Ghorley Project are set to perform together on Friday, April 8th at Neumos in Seattle. At only $7, this is a show even Marty can’t afford to miss.

It’s the hottest video on YouTube. Last time I looked, people had watched it 66 million times. And now comes the shocking revelation that Rebecca Black’s perky “Friday” is essentially a ripoff of The Beatles classic “A Day In The Life.”

Decide for yourself — here’s the evidence:

Or if you prefer, check out the audio eveidence:

Today marks the long awaited return of Blatant Stereotyping. At the request of our guest co-host, Kristen Ward, we examine the behavior, or lack thereof, of a young motel night clerk who comes from a Utah family of 12 or 13. She appeared to have lost count, and really, at that level who wouldn’t?

Also, Master Gardener, a.k.a. “Plant Whisperer,” Mardi Clements stops by the podcast to address the latest trends in urban vegetable gardening and to answer questions from our live webcast audience about plants that – unlike some families in Utah that we know – fail to grow.

So much to cover with guest co-host Camille Bloom and her father musician/wine expert Ray Bloom. First, Marty receives a complaint from a radio listener for a comedy routine that he played yesterday. Hear the routine, which is probably not what the complainant had intended. Then we drink some wine. Plus, two examples of how the Marty Riemer Show podcast is way head of its time. And then we drink more wine. And a few follow up questions and answers to yesterday’s show about the burgeoning medical marijuana industry, like how much does the stuff cost? And then we drink!

with Danger Mouse, the man behind Broken Bells, Gnarls Barkley and every other cool project out there. This one sounds amazing! It’s a modern look at Spaghetti Western style music. Here’s the album “trailer”.

MSNBC Deputy Business Editor Al Olson focuses on the burgeoning medical marijuana industry, which he estimates in one of his recent columns as a $1.7 billion business, and growing. Fast. (Speaking of growing fast (badum bum), Viagra, by comparison, is a $1.9 billion business.) How are investors beginning to take advantage of the opportunities? How are entrepreneurs dealing with the apparent conflict between federal drug laws and state legalization?

Also on the show today, Seattle’s Danny Quintero, who has found his calling channeling the voices and the style of American singers Frank Sinatra, Louis Prima and Dean Martin. You will not believe that he is only 21! You can watch his performance HERE.

And our old friend and producer, Brian Muchinsky, brings his quick wit to bear as special guest co-host on today’s show. Experience more of Brian’s lightening fast wit this Friday night at a showcase of his improv troupe HERE.
