What is commitment? Giving up a musical slot on Saturday Night Live because you’re getting married that day. With Memorial Day Weekend and all its live music hub-bub behind us, we can start to focus on Bumbershoot. This morning, the merry pranksters of Seattle rock, The Presidents of the United States of America, announce their main stage return – their third in all – to Bumbershoot. From their past Bumbershoot memories, to how their jocular approach was received by the dark brooding Seattle scene of the early 90’s, and yes, to the time when they had to decline an appearance on SNL for a wedding, PUSA has lots to share. They even diagnose Adele’s condition which led to her postponing her Seattle concert.

She’s our Northwest contender on the NBC show The Voice, and she stopped by the Mountain Morning Show to check in and let us know how things are going. She talked about her competitors, her mentor Cee-Lo, and the strange concept of using music to compete in a boxing ring.

Listen to my convo with Vicci here:

What are the worst three songs for a lap dance? Seattle Weekly editor Mike Seely co-hosts today with the countdown. Plus, more evidence from China that all Americans look alike.

And our AQUA QUIP FIRESIDE CONCERT SERIES continues with a young six-piece band out of Arlington, Sea Fever, that play a raw, electric folk for and about us Washington peoples.

She’s our local star on NBC’s The Voice, and she’s playing in Seattle over Memorial Day Weekend (Saturday night at the Showbox at the Market). Vicci stopped by the Mountain Morning Show to play the song that won her a slot on the TV show. Pretty good singing for first thing in the morning!

Vicci will be back in the Mountain studio on Tuesday morning before the next episode of The Voice airs on Tuesday night.

What happens when our resident podcast therapist, Kate Stewart, requires therapy herself?! It’s true, her engagement has been called off. Marty steps in to help (or hurt). Plus we talk with Pedro (or was it Pablo, Marty gets confused by pseudonyms) who needs help intervening with a friend at the gym who’s jacked up on ‘roids.

The guys at Death Cab For Cutie sent us this nifty widget with an interview they did about the new CD. Thought you might enjoy it.

Lactose intolerant? Ask your doctor what today’s podcast can do for you? On today’s show, co-hosted by Seattle writer Michael Stusser, we say goodbye to Oprah, and humiliated presidential candidate John Edwards. And then a happy hello to a fun, foot stompin’, barn burning outfit from Port Angeles, Abby Mae and the Homeschool Boys (starring former members of the most awesomely named “Jammin’ Salmon!”). Oh, and today’s show generated so much live online chat we blew our server. Now we’ve upset our webhost.

The podcast goes international! After a good laugh listening to the sound of the U.S. Presidential limousine as it high centers on a driveway in Dublin (you can also watch the video below, but the sound alone is too funny), we check in with our touring European minstrel Camille Bloom to see if she’s attracted any creepy German fans. And she has!

Then we present our first official installment in the basement AQUA QUIP FIRESIDE CONCERT SERIES, with Brian Ellefson. Maybe it’s that he was born in Hawaii, maybe it was the bare feet, or the fact that he was on Mexican tranquilizers, whatever the case, here’s a guy who is every bit as chill as Jack Johnson. His music, which has been featured on ABC’s Cougar Town, and his story impressed us. Less than two years ago after reading one chapter in a self-help, follow-your-dreams, but-don’t-quit-your-day-job book, he quit his day job and devoted himself fulltime to music. His debut CD is called Panoramic View.

Robbie Robertson — founding member of The Band, one-time guitarist for Bob Dylan, and creator of solo albums that are simultaneously rootsy and atmospheric — has a new record called How To Become Clairvoyant. I chatted with him the other day about collaborating with Eric Clapton, and he also gave me a little insight into the age-old controversy Dylan caused when he went electric back in 1966.

Here’s Robbie:
