Pretty much every band uses a setlist when they play live, so everybody
in the band knows what song comes next in the set. Usually you can see
them taped to the floor at the artists’ feet, or stuck to the side of an amp or a
stage monitor. I thought you’d like to see the actual setlist the Indito Girls
used during their recent performance in the Carter Subaru Mountain Music
Lounge. (You can hear the whole session here.) Even when you’re
only playing four songs, it’s nice to know where you are, I guess.
And note that they even reminded themselves that a special guest
would join them for the last song — the Northwest’s own Brandi Carlile.
BTW, off the air, Brandi confirmed that her new album is coming out in August,
and it was produced by Rick Rubin, who worked some magic with the
Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, and many others. She
said some of it’s way intense — a lot rawer and less polished than the
last album, The Story. She plans an acoustic tour in the US and Europe
this summer, followed by a full band tour after the record comes out. And,
undoubtedly, a visit of her own to the Lounge!
