A couple hundred hardy Northwesterners braved torrential rains to plant trees in the Mountains to Sound Greenway over the weekend. It’s part of a campaign from our friends at Carter Subaru to plant 25,000 trees and shrubs in the Greenway. We got things started on Saturday morning at Lake Sammamish State Park; the project continues right on into November. Here’s me, doing my part:

If you’d like to give up a few hours of your Saturday to help with this project, they could really use your help. It’s fun! In fact, if I had fun on a damp, gray, windy morning like this, think how much fun it’ll be on a morning when we’re not having a typhoon.

The people are great, you get a quick tutorial that teaches you everything you need to know about planting, and gloves and shovels are provided. Oh yeah, and Snoqualmie Casino will sweeten the pot with free tickets to an upcoming concert.

  1. John,

Thank you so much for coming out and supporting what we think of as a very great cause! While we’ve got thousands of trees and shrubs to go, it’s folks like you that really make it happen! We couldn’t do it without you…

    A friend of the Greenway!
