Back and Forth With Pete Yorn
Posted in: Uncategorized
Before heading off to the Showbox, Pete Yorn stopped by the Music Lounge this afternoon to play a few tunes, tell a few stories… and what kind of MD would I be if I didn’t give you the inside scoop on it all?
Here is a snippet from today’s performance. This song, “A Girl Like You,” is a hidden track originally included on Pete’s debut album. He wrote the song at the request of actor Ed Burns for a movie.
Pete also played “Don’t Wanna Cry” from the new album, Back and Fourth (no, I didn’t spell it wrong; and yes, it is his fourth album!). Check it out:
You can check out the rest of this Music Lounge (and dive into our archives) by clicking here.
This photo is of me and Pete’s mandolin player, Jonny Polonski. We grew up in the same neighborhood and are both graduates of New Trier East High School. Can you see the resemblance?? Talk about back and forth in time.

I just love this!
Also, love the North Shore commentary, although I doubt Jonny studied dance at Gus Giordonos
